A Custom Outdoor Plantscape for Long Island’s Premier Food Court
Make Be-Leaves recently completed a transformative project at Roosevelt Field Shopping Mall in Long Island, New York. We designed and installed a series of UV artificial green walls and planters for the mall’s open-air food court. The goal was to create lasting beauty that didn’t require ongoing maintenance.
This project came together through close coordination with Chris Brivio, the General Manager of Roosevelt Field, along with electricians and our own installation team. Every detail was carefully considered, from layout and access to power connections and material fit. Ultimately, we delivered a plantscape that blends seamlessly into the space.
Natural Plant Realness Without the Upkeep!
The centerpiece is a collection of UV-stabilized green walls. These walls were built with various artificial foliage, each chosen leaf to mimic the tones and textures found in nature. The finished design has depth and flow, helping the space feel both dynamic and grounded.
Because these materials are UV-rated, they’re made to withstand full sun, wind, and rain. This means the food court stays vibrant without needing live plants or constant care.

Planter Beds with Purpose
We also replaced the aging live greenery in the surrounding built-in planters. These were redesigned with UV-resistant artificial grasses, liriope, and agaves. The new plantings bring in color, shape, and texture—without the maintenance headaches.
As a result, the planters are now consistent with the green wall design, offering a cohesive and modern look throughout the area.
Designed for Efficiency
We planned every phase to minimize disruption to the mall. First, our Make Be-Leave’s team pre-assembled the artificial green wall panels in modular sections. Then, we delivered and installed them during off-hours, making the process faster and easier for everyone involved. In addition, we worked alongside mall staff to ensure safe electrical routing and a clear project timeline.
