Make Be-Leaves has worked with the design team at Design Communications on multiple large scale projects – the most recent installation of artificial plants & trees at the Houston International Airport (IAH).
Custom Faux Succulents and Grass Planting
Working from the designer’s rendering of their plantscaping design, Make Be-Leaves successfully created a near-exact replication of the plantscaping vision. This complex project was a great example of detailed, customized artificial plantscaping.
Large custom-designed interwoven triangular planters throughout the space included angled interior platforms to elevate the custom succulents and grass plantings to the proper height. Due to the angled plantings, the decorative rock top-fill was glued individually to the Styrofoam base. The tall, 12 ft. artificial Birch Trees, built on natural white birch tree trunks, were constructed and designed to be secured down into the bottom base of the tall planters – to appear to be “growing” through the base plantings.
The mixed, low succulent plantings are amazingly life-like – even to the touch!
In addition, two 20 ft. long plantings of 10 ft. tall Bamboo, built on natural bamboo poles, were constructed to fit into the exact planter dimensions. The uplighting on these faux bamboo plantings adds a dramatic highlight to these stunning trees.
